- Aerial Darting: Wildlife veterinarians target selected giraffes from a helicopter, maneuvering them into suitable open terrain to ensure a safe landing prior to sedating them.
- Ground Support & Bush Clearance: As soon as a giraffe goes down, ground teams race through the dense bush to guide the animal safely. Teams use machetes to clear a safe path through thick vegetation so the giraffe can be guided safely to waiting transport trailers.
- Safe Walk and Transport: Blindfolded and guided by experienced handlers using ropes, each giraffe is walked through the bush and carefully loaded into specialised transport vehicles.
